Role Model Volunteer with Scope

Opportunity Provider: Scope

Would you like to be a role model and go into schools to educate young people about disabilities?  Could you speak to a small group of young people and tell them your stories about high school as a person with a disability?

The role is to help schools create an inclusive learning environment and to discuss what its like to have a disability in todays society.

We’re working with secondary schools to help them create inclusive learning environments and start conversations about disability.

What is Scope Role Models?

  • One hour workshops for secondary school students, hosted by Scope and a disabled role model.
  • In a relaxed style we talk about issues like attitudes and stereotyping and how they impact the lives of disabled people.
  • The disabled role model then shares a story from their life as a disabled person in modern Britain, in order to dispel some myths.
  • We then open up for a question and answer session with the students.

If you're a disabled person and feel you'd make an amazing role model then please fill out our enquiry form here.
