Aaron's Story

A head and shoulders shot of a young man. He is smiling.

Aaron, 21, has been cooking up a brilliant success story, going from unemployment to a job he loves since the start of the year.

Aaron is following one of his passions, cooking, and now works as a cook at a local catering company. He is also responsible for getting food to different venues for events.

Aaron, who trained in cookery and catering at Eat Pennines, said: “Sometimes something clicks in your mind, and I realised that getting into work would improve my life.”

Aaron was put in touch with Breakthrough UK’s Talent Coach Richard by his supervisor at Eat Pennines. He said: “Richard showed me how to pull together everything I have done.

“I was feeling down before, I had no job, nowhere to go and I’m in a position now where I’ve learnt a big lesson and I can move forwards.”

Aaron has recently helped cater for a large charity event at the Whitworth Art Gallery in Manchester.

He said: “I like it because it has structure, and cooking is something I enjoy doing at home too.

“Talent Match has helped me a lot, I owe my life to them if it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t be in the position I am now.”
