Opportunities Hub listing at least 20 new opportunities per week
The Greater Manchester Talent Match Opportunities Hub, the place to find holistic support, guidance and advice in your journey to being work-ready, is sharing at least 20 new opportunities every week. Talent Coach features on BBC Panorama
Graham Cooper, our Talent Coach from The Broughton Trust spoke to presenter, Catrin Nye to discuss how the community can help to help young people avoid gangs in Salford. You can watch the show by clicking here.
Talent Coaches offered opportunities for training and learning
Following on from our recent survey on what the most important skills and knowledge-areas are needed by a Talent Coach, we have now launched a Talent Coach only survey on their learning needs. If you are a Talent Coach who has not yet completed the survey, please check out the link on the Forum or click here to complete the survey (you must be logged in to view this link).
Training held for new Talent Coaches
In early February, new Talent Coaches from Groundwork MSSTT, Raise the Youth, Trafford Connexions, Back on Track GreaterSport, The Factory Youth Zone and Salford Foundation joined Project Team members for their induction training.
Bolton YMCA hold Opportunities Fair
Around 70 people came to YMCA Bolton Main Hall to enjoy coffee and to build relationships with organisations of Bolton as part of the Greater Manchester Talent Match programme. You can read about the fair on Bolton YMCA's website by clicking here.
Is your business Future Proof?
In early February, Greater Manchester Talent Match project partner, Business in the Community, backed by City & Guilds, launched Future Proof, a new campaign to help businesses break down the barriers in their recruitment processes and create quality accessible jobs for all young people. Briefing meetings for Talent Coach hosts well attended
Greater Manchester Talent Match was pleased to welcome around 100 local organisations interested in delivering the programme in Bury, Rochdale, Wigan and Tameside to a series of commissioning briefing meetings in January. You can read more about the events on our website, where you can also download the commissioning documents.
The Greater Manchester Talent Match Opportunities Hub is the place to find holistic support, guidance and advice in your journey to being work-ready. New opportunities are added every day including work experience, training, apprenticeships, events and job fairs, volunteering opportunities and more. In this section of the e-news our Opportunities Hub staff pick out their top three current opportunities:
Get a Job in Hospitality and Catering course @ Factory Youth Zone
Starting Monday 22nd February, Factory Youth Zone are offering 4 weeks training, one week work experience followed by a interview.
Carousel - Volunteering into Employment with GMYN in Oldham
This informal 3-day course is particularly useful for young people who have been disengaged for a while and want to improve their confidence.
Employability Programme with The Rio Ferdinand Foundation
This programme is free for unemployed young people in Salford who are aged between 19 - 25 and are claiming benefits to help them gain the skills and understanding to succeed in today's competitive job market.

A valuable opportunity for Talent Coaches and Young People to find out more information about the range of jobs and apprenticeship opportunities within the media industry.
Visit to the Works, Manchester
An opportunity for Talent Coaches and Young People to find out more information and ask questions about the range of job search support, training, job vacancies and other advice the Works has to offer.

Talent Coach Forum
The next Talent Coach Main Forum will take place on Thursday 17th March. All Talent Coaches have now been booked on and we look forward to seeing you all.
