Cherlyee Houston meets with young people

Films released celebrating young people's success
Two films have been released following our young people's Mixer event in July. The first, a four minute summary of the event, featuring speeches, music and interviews with young people who attended. The second, shown during the event, is a collection of short clips from young people on the programme talking about their achievements

We're Hiring: Administrator at GMCVO
Would you like to work as an administrator for the Greater Manchester Talent Match programme? GMCVO, the lead partner on the programme is looking for administrators for Talent Match and Ambition for Aging. Click here to apply.

Talent Coaches take part in activities

Employers support final day of Talent Coach Training
On the final day of their training, Talent Coaches from new host organisations were joined by Spring Technology and Carillion, who delivered exercises about identifying soft skills and their uses in applying for work. Read more about the training by clicking here.

Dan speaks to a young person

Young people supported to set up their own businesses
We have been working with Dan Sodergren from PeoplePlus to offer young people on the programme 1:1 support to give them all the information they need about becoming self-employed. The sessions cover everything from creating a business plan and finance to marketing and website building. Hopefully we'll be reporting back in future editions on the successes of our new entrepreneurs!

We've had a busy month for commissioning, with our final commissioning round closing earlier this month. Our new Talent Coach Host Organisations will be announced in the next edition of this e-news.

The Greater Manchester Talent Match Opportunities Hub is the place to find holistic support, guidance and advice in your journey to being work-ready. New opportunities are added every day including work experience, training, apprenticeships, events and job fairs, volunteering opportunities and more. In this section of the e-news, Janice Drew, our Opportunities Hub Officer, picks out her top three current opportunities:

Trainee Quantity Surveyor Vacancy via Constructing the Future Shared Apprenticeship Scheme
Become a Trainee Quantity Surveyor with this opportunity in Rochdale. The successful candidate will embark upon a 2 year technical apprenticeship, studying Construction Contracting Operations and Construction & the Built Environment qualifications.

Future Proof - Mystery Shopper Challenge
We’re running a series of fun mystery shopper events to give Talent Match young people the opportunity to feedback to employers in Greater Manchester about their recruitment websites and job adverts. Take part and receive a a special testimonial to put on your CV and a £10 shopping voucher

Activities Volunteers @ Mencap, Denton
Last fortnight's Volunteer Opportunity of the Fortnight; Would you like a volunteer opportunity where you get to go bowling, take part in arts and crafts, go shopping, join a drama club, and more? Mencap are looking for volunteers to supporting people with a learning disability do the things they want to do.
