University of Salford students rewarded for work with GM Talent Match Students from the University of Salford have been working with GM Talent Match on a research project into volunteering. In early October we visited them to award them for their work. You can read the full story here.

Youth Panel supports Trafford businesses Youth Panel members have been working on the Employer Grant scheme with Trafford Council to link Trafford businesses with Trafford residents, to offer work experience to young people that are 18 – 24 that are Not in Education, Employment or Training.

Working with Shared Future CIC on online employment support tool Following a commissioning period, we are working with Shared Future CIC and Reason Digital on a piece of work around developing an online employment support tool and reviewing the current Opportunities Hub. Building a Career in Construction at BAM World of Work visit In early October a group of young people and Talent Coaches visited BAM Construction UK’s head office in Salford. They had an introduction to the company and heard from a Building Information Modeller whose job it is to show clients the various proposed stages of delivery via virtual computer models. The Greater Manchester Talent Match Opportunities Hub is the place to find holistic support, guidance and advice in your journey to being work-ready. New opportunities are added every day including work experience, training, apprenticeships, events and job fairs, volunteering opportunities and more. In this section of the e-news our Opportunities Hub staff pick out their top three current opportunities:
Administrative Assistant Apprentice @ Back On Track, Manchester You will gain experience of a range of administration duties while working towards a nationally recognised qualification (Level 2 Business & Administration).
Hidden Talent Programme with Media Trust Transforming Hidden Talent is a 12 month employability programme run by Media Trust and funded Comic Relief. It’s aimed at young people aged 16 – 25 living in Birmingham, London and Manchester.
Creative Digital Course with Reform Radio & Manchester Adult Education Services Reform Radio are working with Manchester Adult Education Services and the Community Learning Fund to deliver a 6 week programme in creative digital skills where you will work towards researching, producing and presenting a live show on the final day.
