Highlights

STILL HIDDEN CONFERENCE, GORTON MONASTERY, 11 OCTOBER 2018

Do you know any leaders who can help make things better for Greater Manchester’s young people? Are they free to attend our Still Hidden conference taking place on October 11 2018?

We want national, local and regional decision makers from all sectors to attend, as our aim is to create a platform from which we can continue to improve the life chances for young people furthest from employment in Greater Manchester.

It is important that we don’t just mark the end of our programme (ending December 2018) but get the people in the room who can help us create a legacy of lasting change. For that reason we will be launching our Still Hidden report at the event with recommendations about what needs to happen next.

For more on the event including the link to book CLICK HERE and please pass details of the event on to anyone who you think can join us to make a difference.

Talent Match recognised by the European Commission
Talent Match is now recognised as one of the 22 promising practices in Europe in the field of youth employment by the European Commission – the only programme/project from the UK! This is related to the Youth guarantee, the main EU youth employment commitment which the EU Member States signed up to in 2013.

The Big Conversation 2018 Evaluation
In January 2018 young people and employers attended the Big Conversation 2018. The event provided a space for young people and employers to talk to each other about the challenges of securing employment, in an informal and encouraging setting.

My Story: Young people on the Greater Manchester Talent Match programme
Jade

Before joining GM Talent Match, Jade had suffered from poor emotional health and issues with substance abuse. After joining the programme, Jade began a traineeship, engaged in volunteer sessions and peer group activities. She eventually secured a trial at a local garage, and immediately proved reliable and motivated whilst displaying a natural ability working with vehicles. Read her full story here.
