This month, the Greater Manchester Talent Match Youth Panel elected their new Chair, Cicely Hill. Cicely has been an active member of the Youth Panel since July 2017 and, as Chair, will represent the Youth Panel on the programme’s Partnership Board, at programme events and in leading the Youth Panel meetings.
The Youth Panel is a group of volunteers, who represent Greater Manchester’s young people in the decision making and evaluation of the Greater Manchester Talent Match programme. To date, Cicely has played a vital role in a number of events and activities, including planning The Big Conversation 2018, an event to bring together young people and employers; representing Greater Manchester young people at All Party Parliamentary Groups based on youth unemployment; and working with Youth Unemployment UK do develop a campaign, due for launch later this year.
Cicely says, “Greater Manchester Talent Match is a great programme as it is influenced by young people to help young people. It has given me opportunities that I would not have done otherwise, which has built my confidence, skills and networks.
“The Youth Panel allows the voices of Greater Manchester’s young people to be heard and I’m excited to take on the challenge of being Chair. I hope to get the Youth Panel involved in projects and events that help us better represent young people and challenge stigmas between young people and employers.”
Cicely began her new role on Thursday 25th January 2018.
