CIEH Level 2 Award in Food Safety - Bolton
Overview of the course
This course replaces the Basic Food Hygiene Certificate course and targets anyone working in a setting where food is prepared, cooked and handled. It will be particularly useful for people handling food in various environments which could include pubs, hotels, restaurants, supermarkets or retail environments, hospitals, care homes, schools and prisons.
What can I expect to learn?
All learners will have a firm grasp of the importance of food safety and knowledge of the systems, techniques and procedures involved. An understanding of how to control food safety risks (personal hygiene, food storage, cooking and handling) and a confidence and expertise to safely deliver quality food to customers.
How will I be assessed?
There will be an exam at the end of the course comprising 30 multi choice questions; of which 20 must be answered correctly to pass.
All learners will complete an individual learning plan which will be discussed with their tutor throughout the course.
What qualification will I be awarded if I successfully complete the course?
CIEH Level 2 Award in Food Safety.
What do I need to join the course?
No formal qualifications are required. Ideally the learner will be coming into contact with food in a work environment. Learners who first language is not English need a level 1 qualification in English Language to enrol on this course. You will require an interview/informal discussion before enrolling on this course.
