Aim of the course

To prepare those entering employment for the first time or/and those who are unemployed/unwaged and seeking to improve their employability to return to employment.

The course will cover the following areas:

Applying for Work

Different ways of applying for work
Producing a CV
Completing application forms

Interview Skills

Preparing for an interview
Conducting self in an interview

Universal Job Match

Learners will upload their CV and a covering letter to Universal Job Match (UJM)

Each course will take place over 5 days (Monday to Friday inclusive), a total of 20 GLH (Monday to Thursday afternoon 12:30pm to 4:00pm and Friday 9:30am to 4:00pm).

Criteria for attending the courses

Age 19 on the first day of the course
For those claiming JSA or ESA (WRAG) there is no cost. All others must pay £40 at enrolment.
Full attendance and completion of an evidence based file is required to achieve the course outcomes.
