Get Online - Learn The Basics (Adlington Library)

At Adlington Library every week - Free help to get online, use the mouse and keyboard, search the web safely, apply for jobs, find free entertainment, follow your hobbies, use public services and your library online.

We provide bite-size courses and one to one help. It doesn't matter how young or old you are, it doesn't matter if you've never used a computer, we can help you!

This is a free event but places are limited, so advance booking is essential. We currently have a waiting list, so please contact us if you are interested.

These courses use the short Learn My Way online courses with support from staff from Adult Learning and Libraries and our trained volunteers. The courses are self-directed and interactive and allow people to progress at their own pace.

These courses are:

  • How to use a keyboard and mouse
  • How to search and explore the internet
  • How to keep in touch with email
  • How to stay safe and secure online

Within six weeks we aim to help people become confident enough to progress from supported sessions to use a computer independently at home or in the library.
