Volunteering Opportunity @ Manchester Cathedral
The Manchester Cathedral Volunteer Programme supports unemployed people aged 19 + in building confidence and developing work ready skills through training, volunteering and mentoring. Volunteers would be required to complete a minimum of 10 weeks on programme - half a day per week in their voluntary placement, a full day each week working towards a recognised qualification in Employment Skills and Customer Service with our training provider (10 am – 3 pm on a Friday) and a supported work club session, which is 2 hours.
All the placements are within the Cathedral, and could either be as a Welcomer in the Cathedral, Retail Assistant in the book shop, caretaking & gardening, Catering Assistant / Kitchen Porter within our tea rooms or as Administration Assistant. We also have a really good relationship with Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service and a group of volunteers carry out their placement with them where they get involved in an array of activities.
