Opportunity Provider: Mustard Tree, Manchester

Would you like to give some time on a Saturday to volunteer with a local charity? Are you able to get along with a wide variety of different customers and people who come to the charity for help? Are you helpful, friendly and polite?

If you answered “Yes” to any of these questions, then this role could be perfect for you!

Your main task as a Charity Shop Volunteer is to help us run our charity shop on a Saturday. We are open from between 10:00 – 16:00 each Saturday, both as a charity shop where members of the public can come to buy things and as somewhere those in need can collect food parcels and free clothing.

As part of this role, you will be expected to:

  • welcome and advise customers and those in need
  • sort donations of clothing and homeware
  • place items on the shop floor, ready for sale
  • operate the till and accurately handle payments
  • giving out food parcels

Volunteering times are 09:45 – 12:00, 12:00 – 14:00 or 14:00 – 16:00 or any combination of those shifts.  We ask for a minimum commitment of one Saturday a month.
