Nic leads on a number of Greater Manchester wide programmes about Apprenticeships and Youth Employment including the Greater Manchester Apprenticeship Hub, City Deal, the devolved AGE grant and Youth Contract Extension.
The role includes strategy development, activity commissioning and high level programme management. With a wide ranging background across voluntary, environmental and skills sectors, a common thread has always been to engage people and improve their opportunities through both practical activities and enabling strategic change.
Nic feels that Greater Manchester Talent Match is an essential piece in the jigsaw for supporting young people into work in Greater Manchester complimenting other programmes and support available. She says that working through grassroots organisations is essential for ensuring that the hardest to reach and most vulnerable young people can get the support they need to begin successful working lives. Nic feels that the lessons learnt from this programme alongside, alongside those from other programmes will ensure that we can put the best support in place to create a productive future workforce.
